May 10th – June 20th – Traffic Disruption on Canada Ave and Government St

Beginning Wednesday May 10th, Ralmax Contracting will be installing BC Hydro, Telus, and Shaw works on Station Street, Canada Avenue, and Government Street.  The work will start at Canada Avenue and Station Street then proceed down the west side of Canada Avenue, cross Government Street to the south side of Government Street, proceed west for a short length then north across Government Street and terminate.  Traffic will be impacted by certified traffic control personnel facilitating lane closures, median cross-overs, and temporary road closures.  A comprehensive Traffic Management Plan has been submitted to the City of Duncan comprised of 11 separate Zones showing various temporary traffic alterations.

The work is expected to conclude June 20th with no work taking place on weekends, statutory holidays, or May 31st (to accommodate the Heart and Stroke Big Bike event in the area).  General hours of work will be from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm.

The City of Duncan expects this work to increase congestion in the area during construction. It is suggested that travellers find alternate routes where possible.
