Beginning August 28, 2014 and progressing into the coming weeks, Island Irrigation and Landscaping, on behalf of the City of Duncan, will be working to remove the existing cedar hedge along Canada Avenue and installing trees and landscaping. This hedge is located on the East side of Canada Avenue between First Street and Beverly Street.

The City of Duncan will launch its Citizen Satisfaction Survey on May 26th to gauge resident satisfaction and outline citizen priorities as recommended in the City’s adopted corporate communications plan.
In May, the City will begin a contract with Multi-Materials BC (MMBC) for recycling services. This means the City will receive an estimated $28,000 in 2014 and $45,000 in 2015 from MMBC for picking up your recycling.
The “City of Totems” has been a long term project that has developed the world’s largest outdoor collection of publically displayed totem poles. The project began in 1985 and was designed to attract visitors to Duncan. It has involved the enthusiasm and support of many individuals and organizations, and has cultivated cross-cultural appreciation and cooperation.
