The City of Duncan garbage truck broke down today. It is believed to be the fuel pump and a new one has been ordered. The Municipality of North Cowichan has come to the City’s rescue by loaning the City one of its trucks so that the garbage collection service can continue.

The City recently received a health and risk assessment report on the condition of four (4) mature Red oak trees located in Charles Hoey VC Memorial Park. These trees were likely planted in the 1940’s.
An Automated External Defibrillator (AED) has been installed in the basement of Duncan City Hall just inside the ramp entrance at the rear of the building. Thank you to the BC Public Access to Defibrillation (PAD) Program for donating this lifesaving device to our municipality.
The City of Duncan approved a policy at a Special Council meeting on July 7, 2014 that authorizes the Duncan Farmers’ Market to accommodate wineries, breweries, and distilleries, with on‐site store endorsement to sell their products (for off‐site consumption) at its Farmers’ Market on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
The City of Duncan has joined thousands of other cities, businesses and individuals in participating in the Earth Hour international lights out event on Saturday, March 29, 2014 from 8:30 – 9:30 p.m.
