Duncan Farmers Market Update, Beacon Buddies Registration, and Increased Bylaw Enforcement Patrols

Duncan Farmers’ Market Update:  At this time, in consultation with the Medical Health Officer and in support of local food security, the Duncan Farmers’ Market on Saturdays at City Square will continue offering farm and food products only, to a maximum of 20 vendors.  This is in line with grocery stores and take-out food services. Measures will be in place to protect vendors and patrons such as distancing between vendors and no product sampling.

Beacon Buddies Community Service: If you need assistance, or would like to offer assistance, Beacon Buddies is a volunteer-run community service that matches people currently in voluntary self-isolation/quarantine with a neighbour who can help out with occasional basic out-of-home errands. Visit www.nanaimobeacon.com/buddies. or call City Hall, 250-746-6126 for assistance.

Increased Bylaw Enforcement Patrols: Additional daytime and nighttime bylaw enforcement patrols will be conducted throughout the City.

As the COVID-19 epidemic evolves, further measures may be required. Go to www.duncan.ca to sign-up for email notifications (right—hand side of the homepage).
