Water Main Flushing April 14 – May 29, 2020

City of Duncan water system users please be advised that the annual water main flushing will be from April 14 to May 29, 2020. This flushing is done to ensure the continued supply of safe drinking water and will affect all City of Duncan water system users. Please disregard this notice if your property is not on the City’s water system.

This program is intended to clean water distribution pipes of sediments that build up over time and is accomplished by flushing fire hydrants to force water at high velocities through the system. The flushing program is conducted annually each spring.

As a result of the flushing process, you may temporarily experience low water pressure and your water may become discoloured during or after flushing. The discoloured water is not a hazard to health and can be resolved by simply running the  cold-water tap for a short period of time.  Those who have questions or concerns, can contact the City of Duncan Public Works Department at 250-746-5321.
