Property Tax, Home Owner Grant and Property Tax Deferment

2022 Property Taxes:

Property tax notices have been mailed.

If you have not received your 2022 notice by the middle of June please call City Hall at 250-746-6126 extension 14.

2022 Property Tax Payments are due by 4:00 p.m. July 4th, 2022. 

Due to COVID-19, penalties will not be levied before September 29th, 2022. Therefore, September 29th is the last day to pay your property taxes to avoid penalties. All unpaid 2022 taxes (including unpaid taxes resulting from unclaimed Home Owner Grants) are subject to a 5% penalty on September 29th, 2022 and a further 5% penalty on October 31st, 2022.

Postmarks on mailed remittances will not be considered as a date of payment.

Home Owner Grants:  

Effective 2021, all homeowner grant applications must be submitted directly to the BC Provincial Government. You must apply for your homeowner grant each year.  For more details, or to apply, go to or call 1-888-355-2700

Property Tax Deferment:

The BC Provincial Government now administers the tax deferment program. If you currently defer your taxes, please refer to your Annual Statement of Account to verify if you have selected the automatic renewal option or not.
