City Hosting Candidate Information Session

Duncan, BC – The City of Duncan is hosting a Candidate Information Session for potential candidates to learn more about the City operations and to provide an overview of information specifically for the upcoming General Local Election.

The Candidate Information Session will cover topics ranging from the current Council’s priorities, the role and responsibilities of local government, and what it’s like to serve on Council.

The Candidate Information Session will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at City Hall, 200 Craig Street, starting at 4:00 p.m.   

Whether you’re interested in learning more about the upcoming General Local Election, or wondering what it takes to be a candidate?  This Session is for you.

All the information presented at the workshop will be posted on the City’s website.

The General Local Election will be held on October 15, 2022 and one Mayor and six Councillors will be elected as the new City of Duncan Council for a four-year term.

Serving your community can be a rewarding experience.  This important civic duty requires several hours a week preparing for meetings, responding to calls and emails, and conducting independent research on topics of public interest.   You can continue to stay up-to-date on the election and key dates by visiting the Election Information website page.
