Public Notice – Land Disposition : Valley Seniors Organization Lease

PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, pursuant to Section 26 of the Community Charter, that the City of Duncan proposes to renew the lease of the land and building at 198 Government Street (The Valley Seniors Organization Building – PID 005-977-541, Lot A, Section 17, Range 6, Quamichan District, Plan 44627, and the northerly approximately 13 metres of PID 003-010-341, Lot 4, Section 17, Range 6, Plan 24352, Quamichan District) to The Valley Seniors Organization of Duncan from October 1, 2022 to September 30, 2027, for the purpose of providing an activity centre for persons 55 years and older.  

In accordance with Section 24 of the Community Charter, the City of Duncan gives notice of the intention to provide assistance to the Valley Seniors Organization by disposing of land by lease for less than market value, at the rate of $26,316 per year or $131,580 for five (5) years.

Any person(s) who wish to comment on the proposed disposition may appear in person at the Council meeting on Monday, January 16, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. or provide written comments to City Hall and addressed to the Director of Corporate Services, City of Duncan, 200 Craig Street, Duncan BC V9L 1W3 or emailed to paige@duncan.ca by 12:00 p.m., Thursday, January 12, 2023, to ensure inclusion in the public record.  Written comments received after 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2023, and before 5:00 p.m. on Monday, January 16, 2023, will be submitted for public record during the meeting.
