Notice of Property Disposition (Fortis BC)

Notice is hereby given, that the District of North Cowichan and the City of Duncan, pursuant to Sections 26 and 94 of the Community Charter, intend to dispose of land that is jointly owned and that is not being made available to the public for acquisition.

The land to be disposed of, which is located across University Way, is a portion of the rear parking area near the ice arena at the Cowichan Community Centre, legally described as Lot 1, Plan VIP82333 (PID 026-922-142), as outlined in bold, to Fortis BC, via a statutory right of way agreement, in exchange for Fortis BC paying all costs associated with completing the survey and registration of the Statutory Right of Way with the Land Title and Survey Authority of BC’s Land Title Office, in order to provide a natural gas service to the new high school.

The Councils will consider this property disposition at their regular meetings on January 16, 2023 at 6:00 pm for the City of Duncan and on January 18, 2023 at 5:00 pm for the District of North Cowichan.
