The Finance Department oversees the financial operations of the City and coordinates ongoing financial planning while developing and implementing long-range plans which meet the capital and operating needs of the City through the Financial Plan Bylaw.

The Finance Department also provides support services in the form of financial information, advice, and direction to Council, City departments and the general public. The Finance Department is responsible for preparing the City’s Annual Reports, Financial Plans (budgets), Financial Statements and Statements of Financial Information, processing Business Licence applications, reviewing and updating the Fees & Charges Bylaw, managing the annual Grants-in-Aid, administering the Permissive Tax Exemptions and collecting Property Taxes.
