Goal
The goal of this policy is to provide direction to staff on the distribution of City of Duncan lapel pins.
Scope
This policy applies to any request made to the City for the provision of City of Duncan lapel pins.
Policy
The City of Duncan maintains a stock of small lapel pins that may be distributed as follows:
- Sold at cost to merchants upon request.
- A maximum of 50 lapel pins may be given away each year to Cowichan Valley school, service, fraternal, sports, or similar organizations for special occasions. Additional pins can be purchased at cost.
- Visitors may receive up to 2 lapel pins when attending City Hall.
- Residents or business representatives within the City of Duncan who are traveling out-of-province may request up to 10 lapel pins.
- The City will mail a maximum of 2 lapel pins to individuals and a maximum of 50 lapel pins to schools outside the Cowichan Valley if a postage-paid envelope is provided. Staff may inform the requester of postage costs.
