Commencing May 6, 2014, Council will join with City of Nanaimo, City of Parksville and District of Tofino to move the process of resolving bylaw ticket disputes related to minor infractions out of the Provincial Court system and into an independent adjudication process.
The City of Duncan has joined thousands of other cities, businesses and individuals in participating in the Earth Hour international lights out event on Saturday, March 29, 2014 from 8:30 – 9:30 p.m.
The City of Duncan has once again been awarded the Canadian Award for Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers’ Association of the United States and Canada for the year ended in December 31, 2012.
In May, the City will begin a contract with Multi-Materials BC (MMBC) for recycling services. This means the City will receive an estimated $28,000 in 2014 and $45,000 in 2015 from MMBC for picking up your recycling.
The Ministry of Environment in collaboration with Island Health has issued an Air Quality Advisory for Duncan and vicinity because of high concentrations of fine particulates that are expected to persist for the next 3 days.
