Accessing City of Duncan services during the Canada Post strike
Alternate options are available in-person and online.
The City of Duncan is notifying residents and businesses of disruptions to mail services due to the Canada Post strike.
Businesses or residents may experience delays in receiving:
- Utility invoices
- Business licence renewal invoices
- Dog licence renewal invoices
Utility Payments
The postal strike will delay the delivery of City invoices.
Residents and businesses are reminded they are still required to make payments by due dates.
To avoid late fees, interest charges or penalties, residents and businesses are encouraged to use alternative methods to make payments on time. Payments can be made:
- Through online banking
- In-person 200 Craig Street
- Online at www.duncan.ca
Residents and businesses can create or log in to their online account for information on account balances and deadlines.
The City encourages residents to plan ahead and use one of the alternative payment methods to ensure timely processing.
Business Licences
All business licences expire on December 31 each year. Renewal notices are sent out in November by mail and payment is due by February 28th, 2025.
Due to the Canada Post service disruption, many business licence holders in the City of Duncan may not receive their invoice in time. As a result, we recommend all business licence holders renew their licence in person at City Hall. Business licence payments may also be made online at https://remote.duncan.ca/vadimopen/Home. Online payments will require a PIN number which you can obtain by calling City Hall.
Dog Licences
All dog licences expire on December 31 each year. Renewal notices are sent out in November by mail and if you pay by January 31st, 2025 you receive the early bird discount.
As a result of the Canada Post strike, delivery of Dog Licence renewal invoices will be delayed. As a result, we recommend all dog licence holders renew their licence in person at City Hall. Pet licence payments may also be made online at https://remote.duncan.ca/vadimopen/Home Online payments will require a PIN number which you can obtain by calling City Hall.
