National Truth & Reconciliation Day – Events
On Wednesday, September 29th at 3:00 p.m., the Cowichan Valley Metis will be hosting a flag raising ceremony at Duncan City Hall (200 Craig Street) as part of National Truth & Reconciliation Day. All are welcome and masks are recommended.
On Thursday, September 30th at 9:30 a.m. Every Child Matters March, hosted by M’akola Housing will take place throughout the streets of the Municipality of North Cowichan and City of Duncan. The start is at Vancouver Island University (9:15 a.m.), winds through the City Centre and ends at Cowichan Tribes, Si’em Lelum soccer fields on River Road, with post-events planned. Masks are recommended.
Some roads will be temporarily closed as the March passes by. Traffic control will be on scene to safely guide vehicles and pedestrians. Further details are available on the City’s event page here.
