Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 53 (Duncan) – Remembrance Day Ceremony

A Remembrance Day Ceremony will be held on November 11, 2021 at 10:55 a.m. (Muster 10:40 a.m.) at the Duncan Cenotaph, Charles Hoey Park on Canada Avenue.

Everyone is welcome, keeping in mind to protect our Veterans and most vulnerable from COVID-19 masks are recommended and distance yourself from others. Veterans and selected guests only will be permitted in the area under the tents and the public is asked to stay back behind the roped area(s). It is also recommended to please leave pets at home.

The Remembrance Day Ceremony (Duncan) will once again be live-streamed, thanks to Shaw Spotlight.

The livestream will start at 10:40 a.m. on Nov 11th, on Shaw Spotlight (Shaw channel 4 or channel 105 if you have Shaw Blue Curve) and YouTube below:

Please support the Legion by purchasing a poppy during Poppy Tag Days, October 24 – November 11, at local retailers throughout the Cowichan Valley, donating by e-transfer to, or purchasing a wreath to be placed at the Duncan Cenotaph prior to the Remembrance Day ceremony by contacting:, calling: 250-746-5013 or dropping by Headquarters during open hours.

Headquarters is located at: St. John’s Anglican Church Hall, 486 Jubilee Street.  Please enter at rear of building; schedule posted at door.

There will be no reception following the ceremony due to Public Health Order restrictions.
