2022 GENERAL LOCAL ELECTION – Notice of Advance Voting Opportunities

ADVANCE VOTING OPPORTUNITIES will be open to qualified electors of the City of Duncan on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 and Tuesday, October 11, 2022 between the hours of 8:00 am and 8:00 pm at the Duncan Fire Hall, 468 Duncan Street, Duncan, BC.

VOTING DAY REGISTRATION

The Provincial list of voters became the City of Duncan’s register of resident electors on August 24, 2022. If you are not on the list of electors, you may register at the time of voting by completing the application form available at the voting place and making a declaration that you meet the elector qualifications as a resident elector or a non-resident property elector.

ELECTOR ELIGIBILITY & REGISTRATION DOCUMENTS

To register at the voting place, you must bring two pieces of identification that provide evidence of your identity and place of residence. One piece of identification must contain your signature. Picture identification is not necessary.

Non-resident property electors must also provide proof of property ownership (i.e., bill of sale or property tax notice) and, if there is more than one registered owner of the property, only one of those individuals may, with the written consent of the majority of the owners, register as a non-resident property elector.

Types of acceptable identification include a driver’s licence, BC Services Card, a BC CareCard, social insurance number card, a Citizenship Card, credit card or debit card, Owner’s Certificate of Insurance and Vehicle Licence issued by ICBC, a utility bill (electricity, natural gas, water, phone, or cable services), or property tax notice.
