City of Duncan Council will hold a Public Hearing on Monday, November 21, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 200 Craig Street, Duncan, BC, to allow the public to provide input to the Council on “Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 3166.03, 2022”.
What is the purpose of Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 3166.03, 2022?
The purpose of the proposed bylaw is to amend Zoning Bylaw No. 3166, 2017, in Schedule A, by reclassifying 1081 Canada Avenue, LOT 1, SECTION 19, RANGE 6, QUAMICHAN DISTRICT, PLAN 29979 (PID: 001-327-399) (outlined on map below) from “Neighbourhood Commercial Zone” to “Community Service Zone” to facilitate use of the existing building on the property for the Cowichan Valley Women Against Violence Society’s emergency transition house for women and female-identifying individuals who are unsheltered and are experiencing or are at risk of violence (assisted living residential facility).

The proposed bylaw is available for public review until Monday, November 21, 2022, at City Hall, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday (excluding holidays), and is also available for review on this webpage below. Attend the Public Hearing at 4:00 pm on Monday, November 21, 2022 at City Hall, 200 Craig Street, Duncan, BC for the opportunity to speak, or provide written comments mailed or delivered to City Hall and addressed to Director of Corporate Services, City of Duncan, 200 Craig Street, Duncan BC V9L 1W3, or emailed to paige@duncan.ca before 4:00 p.m., Thursday, November 17, 2022. All correspondence received after 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 17, 2022, and before 3:00 p.m. on Monday, November 21, 2022, will be submitted for public record during the meeting.
