Council Update – September 23, 2024
The City of Duncan Council Update is a snapshot of items considered at meetings of Council. These are not the official minutes. Meeting agendas, minutes, and videos can be accessed through the City’s Council Meeting Portal.
- Council awarded the contract for the Station Street Placemaking Project tender to Echelon Creative Inc. and allocated funding towards the installation of a mural on the new washroom building that will be installed in the park. - Council confirmed a commitment to cover project costs that are ineligible for funding if the City is selected to receive the ChildCare BC New Spaces Fund Major Capital Grant.
- Council awarded the contract for the Marchmont Road Renewal tender to IWC Excavation subject to the result of an inspection to determine the estimated remaining lifespan of the sewer main.
- Council gave first three readings to Permissive Tax Exemption Bylaw No. 3247, No. 3248, No. 3249, No. 3250, and No. 3251 – bylaws that provide a permissive tax exemption to certain properties in the City of Duncan.
- Council adopted Delegation of Authority Amendment Bylaw No. 3115.03, a bylaw to delegate to certain City staff select decisions that, by statutory default, would otherwise need to be made by Council.
