Council Update – May 12, 2025

The City of Duncan Council Update is a snapshot of items considered at meetings of Council. These are not the official minutes. Meeting agendas, minutes, and videos can be accessed through the City’s Council Meeting Portal.

• Tourism Cowichan presented to Council on the Tourism Cowichan Year in Review (2024-2025).
• Council heard a presentation from C. Vanderhorst, MNP, on the City of Duncan Audit Findings Report for the year ending December 31, 2024, and endorsed the 2024 Financial Statements.
• Council received the report of the Chief Administrative Officer that includes updates on a number of City initiatives.
• Council adopted Zoning Bylaw Amendment Bylaw No. 3166.11, 2025 – a bylaw to make miscellaneous amendments related to housing, parking, and consistency with the Official Community Plan.
• Council proclaimed June 30, 2025 as Indigenous Survivors Day – National Blanket Ceremony Day in the City of Duncan.
• Council proclaimed June 2025 as Deafblind Awareness Month in the City of Duncan.
• Council proclaimed May 11 – 17, 2025 as Local Government Awareness Week in the City of Duncan.
• Council proclaimed May 18 – 24, 2025 as National Public Works Week in the City of Duncan.
