The Cowichan Regional FireSmart Resiliency Program is designed to help homeowners and communities reduce the risk of wildfire damage. Emergency Management Cowichan is administering the program on behalf of the City of Duncan, Town of Ladysmith, and Electoral Areas of the Cowichan Valley Regional District.

The City of Duncan is conducting annual water main flushing from March 17 to May 30, 2025.
Annually each spring, water is flushed through the water pipe system and out a fire hydrant. This program is intended to clean water distribution pipes of sediment that builds up over time.
