Recognition Program

Employees are recognized for their service by receiving awards after 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, and 35 years of service.

The award is in the form of Duncan Dollars redeemable at a number of local businesses.

Program Administration

The Office Assistant administers the program and makes arrangements for a presentation of the long service awards at the annual BBQ held between June and September.

The picnic is hosted by the City and takes place over the lunch hour, usually on a Friday.

Employee Marriage Recognition

When an employee gets married, the Office Assistant will:

  • Purchase a card and circulate it for signing.
  • Email staff to ask if they want to contribute cash to the newlyweds.
  • The City will contribute $50 from petty cash.
