The annual Run for the Claus will start and finish in City Square with participants dressed in Santa suits. There is a 3.5 km walk or a 6 km run. The $20 registration fee includes a Santa suit and all proceeds for the event are donated to the Clements Centre Society.
The City hosts an Annual Meeting and Awards Event in early December each year. It is a formal meetings at City Hall, 200 Craig Street, where Council makes the committee appointments for the upcoming year and presents awards to residents who demonstrate excellence in the fields of arts, sports and long-term service to the community.
There will be lighting of the menorah candles, a speech by Rabbi Meir Kaplan, and an offering of food.
A Special Council Meeting has been scheduled for the purpose of considering a Grant-In-Aid application from the Cowichan Women Against Violence Society for an Extreme Weather Shelter for Women and a staff report regarding the timing of the referendum on amalgamation.
