Notice of Development Variance Permit (DVP-2024-04) 2-361 Trans-Canada Highway
This notice is to advise that Council will consider issuance of a Development Variance Permit for LOT 1 SECTION 17 RANGE 6 QUAMICHAN DISTRICT PLAN EPP40679, located at 2-361 Trans-Canada Highway (Coronation Mall), Duncan, BC.
What is the purpose of the Development Variance Permit?
The proposed permit, if issued, would vary Section 10.1 of Sign Bylaw No. 3095, 2013, as follows: (a) by increasing the maximum sign area of window signs on the business frontage (east wall) from 3 m2 to 28.26 m2 (100% coverage); and (b) by permitting window signs on the south wall windows, with a maximum sign area of 17.48 m2 (100% coverage). The proposed signage is for the Bulk Barn business located at the subject address.

The proposed DVP will be available for public inspection from Monday, September 23, 2024, to Monday, October 7, 2024, at City Hall, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday (excluding holidays), and can be viewed by clicking the link below. Attend the Council meeting at 6:00 pm on Monday, October 7, 2024 at City Hall, 200 Craig Street, Duncan, BC for the opportunity to speak or provide written comments mailed or delivered to City Hall and addressed to Director of Corporate Services, City of Duncan, 200 Craig Street, Duncan BC V9L 1W3 or emailed to paige@duncan.ca before 12:00 p.m., Thursday, October 3, 2024. All correspondence received after 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 3, 2024, and before 3:00 p.m. on Monday, October 7, 2024, will be submitted for public record during the meeting.
