The Municipality of North Cowichan is pleased to announce that Staff Sergeant Chris Bear has been selected as the new Officer in Command (OIC) and will be promoted to Inspector of the Duncan/North Cowichan RCMP detachment. He replaces Superintendent Ray Carfantan, who was the Officer in Charge since October 2013.
Duncan City Council and the Municipality of North Cowichan Council have agreed to hold the referendum on amalgamation in the spring of 2018. Subject to the approval of the Minister of Municipal Affairs & Housing, both municipalities will choose a date to hold the referendum in the spring next year.

The City of Duncan is very pleased to announce the selection of its new Director of Corporate Services, Ms. Paige MacWilliam. Ms. MacWilliam originally came from Pemberton to the City in early 2016 as its Corporate Services Coordinator, and has been acting in the Director role since July 11, 2017.
