Notice of Zoning Bylaw Amendment Bylaw No. 3166.11, 2025
Council will hold a Public Hearing on Monday, April 28, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall, 200 Craig Street, Duncan, BC, to allow the public to provide input to Council on “Zoning Bylaw Amendment Bylaw No. 3166.11, 2025”.
What is the purpose of Zoning Bylaw Amendment Bylaw No. 3166.11, 2025?
The purpose of the proposed bylaw is to complete a number of miscellaneous amendments to Zoning Bylaw No. 3166, 2017 to achieve more consistency with the policies and map designations of Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 3226, 2024 and to support the development of housing. The amendments generally include the reclassification of certain properties in Schedule A – Zoning Map of the Zoning Bylaw, updates to the landscaping and screening regulations, reductions to the minimum off-street parking regulations, establishment of a minimum number of 2- and 3-bedroom units in larger housing developments, and adding short-term rental as a permitted use with associated regulations to address the provincial Short-Term Rental Accommodations Act.

The proposed bylaw will be available for public review from Tuesday, April 15, 2025 to Monday, April 28, 2025, at City Hall, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, and is also available for review on this webpage below or at bigconversations.duncan.ca/zoning. Attend the Public Hearing meeting at 4:00 pm on Monday, April 28, 2025 at City Hall, 200 Craig Street, Duncan, BC for the opportunity to speak or provide written comments mailed or delivered to City Hall and addressed to Director of Corporate Services, City of Duncan, 200 Craig Street, Duncan BC V9L 1W3 or emailed to paige@duncan.ca before 3:00 p.m., Thursday, April 24, 2025. All correspondence received after 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2025, and before 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Monday, April 28, 2025, will be submitted for public record during the meeting.
